Anna Belle Leiserson

Anna Belle Leiserson first dipped her mind into computers during college — learning a smattering of Fortran, PL/1 and Cobol on punch cards. However when the day came to declare her major, she thought, "Computer science isn't for women" (a thought she still thinks may be correct) and so pursued other interests. She became a librarian in 1978, following her passion for sharing information.

Then in 1994 she discovered Mosaic and the World Wide Web, and fell in love. There was no looking back. The information sharing possibilities were beyond her wildest dreams. So she started down the critical path of any decent web professional — to whit constant learning, almost always self-taught. First came HTML and Photoshop, followed by a blur of other skills, including usability, search engine optimization, CSS, PHP, ASP, XML, and Flash. Lately the skills she has been focusing on are Drupal, Liferay and Google Analytics.
